Revenge of the Mad Scientist Book One Airship Adventure Chronicles 1 eBook Lara Nance

~Great Steampunk adventure form page one! I liked the story line, the writing style, and the characters.
~I will not give any spoilers, except to say that upon reading this book, one should be prepared to read the other three books in the series. I definitely enjoyed seeing the relationship struggle between Lady Arabella and Rett. Sure, maybe sometimes the damsel in distress is swept off her feet by the hero. However, Lady Arabella is not exactly a wallflower waiting to be saver…she is a strong character. And Rett is not exactly a one hundred present hero. He does not initially win her over…however as they continue on their quest, he works at it. This is the type of character development that makes for a good story.

Revenge of the Mad Scientist Book One Airship Adventure Chronicles 1 eBook Lara Nance Reviews

A good read with good action and enjoyable character. Might not be the best written I have read, but it kept my interest and I am looking forward to finishing the series.
Steampunk is fascinating, and this story is as good as it gets. Wonderful read. Action, romance, a worldwide chase and lots of bad guys!
Very well written with a mixture of technology, adventure and drama! When reading, I appreciate having people who can spell and use proper grammar, for the most part, HOWEVER, I find the online books do not appear to have been proofed, as they have a very great many errors on both!
A fantastic novel, but unfortunately somewhat ruined by a lack of proper editing. Every time I hit a grammar error or a typo, it threw me out of the story, as did the occasional continuity errors. It's really a pity, because I wanted to love this book. I'm guessing this book was self-published, which can be very hit-or-miss for the readers. The best self-published authors I've read, invest in having their book professionally edited. Others send out copies to a dozen or more beta readers. This novel, while brilliant and fun in its conception, could've greatly benefitted from one of these two options. I hope an updated version will be released in the future, because I believe the author shows great promise, and there are few such writers in this genre.

As for the novel itself, there were strong and endearing characters, though a few of the smaller characters could stand to be fleshed out a bit more. Also, I feel that the 'mad scientist villain' should have been introduced much earlier in the story. Although, the author does get bonus points for some fun inventions and also for providing the readers with a map at the end of the book. The action was pretty constant, a real adventure, with proper editing it would be a four or five star novel.
I have read all 3 books and the novella. I enjoyed the Airship Adventure Chronicles. The heroine was independent, but not at the cost of someone else. She pulled herself up by her bootstraps and the adventures just kept going.

These stories are entertaining - great for when I get home from a long day at work and just want to step out of the "real world" for a little while. Looking forward to more of the Airship Adventure Chronicles.
Lady Arabella Trunkett’s father, the High Lord Minister of Urbannia is kidnapped in the middle of a ball and the country of Gandiss is framed for the crime to stop the signing of a peace treaty with  Urbannia. Belle suspects that something else is going on and when she finds a mysterious clue left by her father, she runs off to the rescue of her father. Belle is an independent business woman, she invented steam-powered spinning wheels. I really like steampunk and I like strong female characters so I was enjoying this book a lot. The writing is really good. The pacing is really good. I was drawn into the mystery and adventure. Belle is reunited with a dashing scoundrel from her past who reminded me of Han Solo. 5 stars.
Revenge of the Mad Scientist takes place in a steampunk world - and I haven't read that many books that do so. This book follows Belle as she races across the world to rescue her kidnapped father. She is joined by the boy -genius that she has adopted as well as her faithful butler Jasper. They pick up help along the way from a variety of people including airship captain Rett, a former friend who left her at the alter thinking neither of them wanted to be in an arranged marriage.

It's not just that she needs to rescue her father, she's also hoping to stop a war from breaking out. One country has been framed for her father's kidnapping, and after she discovers the true culprits, she realizes that there is much more danger for the entire world.

Easy read and I liked the characters, although sometimes it seemed like they were falling into one adventure after another in too rushed a fashion. I would read the other books in the series.
