I have to say I was looking forward to this book after reading the first one. I mean “Wrong Kind of Love” kind of blew my socks off. This book...not so much.

I did NOT like Ava... at all. Seriously, she was annoying and so focused on herself. I was even disappointed in Jake. I wanted smack both of them upside the head. I almost put this one down to a DNF but I kept hoping some excitement would happen. All in all, I think the supporting characters kept this book going.

Oh well, maybe the next one will be better. Still love Lexi Ryan’s books though.

I loved the first book in this series, but this book was so slow and Ava needed to find a backbone. I will be VERY reluctant to purchase the next book in the series if this is the way the author is going with this series. Also I love to read about an alpha male and Jake was not it, although I thought he would be from the beginning of the story.
Oh my god. Where do I even start?? First off, I loved getting more from the OG Jackson brother. I loved Nic and Ethan's story. Jake. Oh my. The man knows his beer, cooks like a professional chef, and was so utterly in love with Ava. These two were soulmates whose timing was just always off. They kept coming so close over the years that I wanted to reach in and kick them in the butt to get it together. I adored their friendship though. The Jackson clan sure knows how to keep it interesting. I'm a stickler for my HEA's. I need them. Straight Up Love hit it out of the park and left me wanting to stalk Lexi Ryan because I cannot wait to find out what happens with Colton & Ellie. Don't be foolish. One-click and immerse yourself in another slam dunk read by Lexi Ryan. She give you everything you could possibly want Romance, drama, humor, snark, and a plot twist that I'm still trying to recover from.
Ava's character is so wishy washy, it became annoying at times. Jake is so in love with her that he'll do anything to keep Ava in his life. Even if that means helping with getting her pregnant. I don't know how Jake suffered all the times throughout the story with blue balls. He has it bad for Ava for so long. Ava reveals more if herself to Jake. Explains herself more and making the story more understanding.
Molly comes with a surprise into the story. Didn't know she had so much baggage with her in New York. How she crushed on Jake as well back in the school days. I'm pretty sure her story is next. There was a hint of a cliffhanger of her story to come.
I've enjoyed this series so far. These two books seem to start off rather slow. Your way over 50% into the storyline before it starts getting good. Then bam the action begins then end of story. I wish the story drama could start earlier into the books. I didn't still enjoy the story though.
Can I love a series more? I literally can't get enough of these guys. The first book was amazing (THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE), and this one was just as fabulous. When best friends Jake and Lexi decide to have a baby together, it's not about the sex for Jake. He's been in love with Lexi for a very long time, but she only sees him as a pal. A best friend. He's going to use everything in his power to make sure she finally sees how much he loves her.

Lexi gave up on Jake a long time ago, so she's been content to just be friends. When her ex-husband and his wife suddenly announce they are having a baby, Lexi decides it's now or never. Her friends talk her into asking Jake for a donation, and while the idea has merit, she soon realizes that Jake isn't playing by her rules.

You can read this one first, by why would you? There's two of these books out right now, so enjoy the first and then get this one. Buy them together because you'll want to keep reading about these Jackson Harbor Boys back to back. I can't wait until August for the next one! Sexy, sweet, tender, fun and romantic, it's crosses all the T's and dot's all the I's. Go now - READ IT!
Oh where do I start with this review! I'm a total sucker for this trope, first of all. Friends to lovers and second chance romances are some of my favorite books to read. Couple that with Lexi's story telling and writing and you have GOLD!

Oh how I know what it's like to be Ava. As I personally was approaching my 30's I wanted nothing more then to have kids, mostly so I wasn't too old to keep up with them as they grew up. So as her 30th birthday dawns Ava wants nothing more then to have a baby. She's been burned by a crappy ex-husband, and though she knows it will be hard, she is planning to go the route alone. Her courage, outlook and determination, were such quality traits in her character. Teacher by day and part time bar tender in the evenings, Ava has a sensible direction in her life and she plans and goals and she's going to achieve them.

Enter Jake Jackson, the stunning and handsome best friend and bar owner and heir to the famous Jackson name. When he's approached by drunken Ava to help her with her endeavor to have a baby, he's shocked to say the least. Jake has been harboring feelings for Ava for years. But Jake devises brilliant plan to not just give Ava what she wants most, but to get what he wants most, her in his bed forever... GAH... Jake is simply. THE. BEST! I absolutely adored him from the get go. Even with his faults he is one special guy, now if only Ava would see him more then just the best friend....

Get ready for the roller coaster or emotions that this journey will take you on! Jake and Ava have a push and pull that will keep you flipping the pages furiously to see what will come next. Their love truly leapt off the pages, and Jake is so sweet, kind and caring, with a side of alpha that will have you wanting a Jackson brother of your own.

I fell in love all over again with the Jackson family in this book. Lexi knows how to write the family sagas the suck you in and make you feel like you want to be a part of this family. The Jackson family is big and each brother has his own way of making you fall in love with them, even when the book isn't about them, you get just enough of them to keep you wanting more. And Lexi's storytelling and writing are like a fine wine, as it ages, it gets better and better. I remember back to her very fist book I read of hers and how far she's coming, each story having its own totally unique facets and plots. Lexi's become one of my MUST. ONE. CLICK. authors and will be for a long time to come! If you haven't read either of the Jackson Harbor books you need to read them now. They can be read out of order, so give Jake a one click now. I promise you won't be sorry!
