I bought this book because I liked "Loved by the Lion" and at the end of that book, there was a sneak preview for this one. The sneak preview piqued my interest. However, I wouldn't have bought this book if I knew that the conflict is based on a simple misunderstanding which could easily have been ironed out if Sarah and Jake had bothered to TALK to each other. Both of them simply assumed things about the other's feelings based on something they saw or heard. As a result he thinks she doesn't like him, while she thinks he doesn't want her--and it was so annoying because readers are given POV of both characters and we know they both want each other! This issue doesn't get cleared up until we're practically at the end--83% of the book to be exact, which means they are at odds for more than three-quarters of the book. They avoid each other, so we don't see them spending time together or getting to know each other. Then suddenly everything is hunky-dory and they're in love? The ending was way too rushed and felt abrupt due to the absence of earlier build-up. And... what kind of alpha is Jake, to give up so easily and not pursue Sarah? Since when has any alpha said, "Oh, she doesn't want me, my broken heart is my problem to deal with"? He doesn't even ASK her why she's upset! Really disappointed with the so-called romance in this book.Product details

One of my favorite authors.
After a miss understood look everything goes sideways. He doesn't like me, she doesn't like me! But this author always pulls off just enough info to build the characters and then add a great story line! Nice👌!
It kinda takes the term love at first sight very literally but I liked different spin on it with them misunderstanding each other and thinking they hated each other it makes it very good and a very exciting book to enjoy 😍😘😚😙
Jake was the alpha of a rag tag group of different shifters.m how he became that he wasn't sure but he was. Sarah was a new doctor and wanted to work in a small town where she should make a difference. When she first met Jake all she could think was how handsome he was. The book was short cute and just a little bit of adventure. 😳
I expected a little bit more from the story. I was a little disappointed about the bite not being explained. It almost seemed as if he was going to do it, stop his self, but then it was never brought up again. WTH? Other than that the story was great, but it could have ended way, way, way better.
Good short read. Sara and Jake get started off a little rocky, but then the heat strikes. Unfortunately with a fast hot flame there is a danger of it burning out quickly. Is that what happened to them?
Sarah sees how good he is with his pack as the alpha. He is in charge of protecting the town and does a great job, even though there old enemies who want things to return to the pre-Jake status. Does her loyalty, even with the distance they are keeping, place her in danger?
Watch these two struggle to get back their HEA.
it was interesting - ended too soon
Good fun reading with a few sassy twists in the characters and their stories. Way too short but worth reading.
